Project Description
con•gress is an ambient opera
It is created from recordings of official proceedings for the 115th U.S. Congress (2017-18). Speeches and debates form a libretto harmonized into arias and duets. Cadence creates rhythm and tempo. The pitch of spoken words becomes a musical score.
